PaperPlayers Challenge #142 Winners

Wow!   Your creations this week left me speechless.  Many of you stated that you were worried about creating a one layer card, or that you found it a real challenge.  However, you rocked the challenge and didn't make it look difficult at all.  There really were some gorgeous cards in the gallery.  I was thrilled that so many of you joined us this week.

Before we get to my selection for Headliner, however, let's have a look at the Design Team's selections for A Cut Above.

And the Design Team's selections for A Cut Above are....

1. Brian's choice: Lisa has won my heart with this gorgeous water colored piece of art. Simple, yet stunning. Congratulations, Lisa, on being my choice!	2. Amy's Choice: Though limited to one layer of card stock, Vicky has shown that layers of stamping cans be just as beautiful as layers of pretty paper. Congrats, Vicky!	3. Nance's choice: Paru's brilliant use of the sketch and perfect placement of images and sentiment made for a fabulous and trendy one-layer card. Congrats, Paru!
4. Ann's Choice: With a simple embossed frame and perfect image placement, Lizy's card is an example of CAS perfection. Congrats on being my pick!	5. Justin's Choice: Andrea's monochromatic card is soft and pretty. The band across the middle gives it some nice dimension. Congrats Andrea on being my Cut Above!	6. LeAnne's Choice: Andrea's sweet butterfly floating against a plaid background really appealed to me! The little heart-shaped flourish sealed the deal! Congrats, Andrea!
7. Sandy's Choice: Mary's beautifully colored poppies were a winner for me, and I loved her hand drawn outline. Congrats, Mary!	8. Jen's Choice: I really love the technique used on this card... One I have to try but it was the fabulous flowers i love. Congrats Chris on being my cut above	9. Anne Marie's Choice: I just love how Sue's colorful flowers just popped off the kraft background with the pretty colors and the white outline. So pretty! Congrats Sue!

Stamping Moments

 

Andrea's triptych image is beautifully composed.  I felt as though I was looking through a window into a summer field with a gorgeous blue sky.  The sentiment was perfect for the images.  I went back to this card again and again.  I was drawn to the colors, the beautifully executed sponging and the perfect placement of the image and sentiment.   This card is a perfect example of a true one layer card and perfectly highlighted how stunning a OLC can be.   Congrats, Andrea, on being my headliner this week.

Many people think that one layer CAS cards are boring.... well, the design team proved that wasn't true.  Now, the design team did a great job with this challenge, but we can't wait to see what YOU all do with it.

Happy Winner Day, everyone!  Nance here.  I am thrilled that my theme challenge inspired so many of you to use recycled/re-purposed items on your projects!  I love how each one of our entries thought outside the usual box of crafting supplies to come up with a fabulous project!  Before I show you my choice for Headliner, however, let's have a look at the Design Team's selections for A Cut Above.

Nessa's gorgeous card proves that inspiration can come from anywhere!  I completely identified with her love of packaging materials and drooled over the beautiful blue and white tissue paper she used to create the flower.  Don’t you just love that the gorgeous tissue paper just happened to match some leftover Easter ribbon which coordinated with some freebie cardstock?  Part recycled materials, part serendipity but all beautiful.  Congratulations, Nessa, you’re our Headliner this week!
