Jaydee here and we have another sketch challenge for you this week.  Even though the focal element is circular in the sketch, you can make it any shape you want.  You can also turn the sketch if that works better for you, too.

The design team has outdone themselves again this week and we can't wait to see your fabulous creations.  Remember, although the Design Team uses Stampin' Up! products, we want you to feel free to use any brand you like. At The Paper Players, we are all about having fun!

Challenge #60 - CAS Sketch - Winners

Hi everyone, LeAnne here again!  I was thrilled to see how many people participated in the sketch challenge this week!  I read lots of positive commentand hope you'll find this sketch one you go to many times!  I only wish I could pick everyone's as a winner--it is so difficult to choose just one!  But first, let's see which cards caught the eyes of the designers.  Here are our Cut Above selections:

Lauri's Pick:  Debbie

I love the Day of Gratitude set, and when you pair it with Autumn colors you have a great card!  Debbie is my pick this week for a Cut Above because of her Clean and Simple interpretation of the sketch, along with a wonderful choice of colors.  Her upside down ribbon is a great finishing touch!  Congratulations to Debbie for being my choice this week for a Cut Above!

Ann's Pick:  Connie

When I saw this card by the talented Connie Babbert, I was in awe of her creativity and interpretation of the sketch.  I love how she cleverly used the Doily Triple Layer Punch to create this trio of fall trees!  Aren't the little "punchlet" fallen leaves just the cutest things! The Baker's Twine and the torn edges are the icing on the cake! Congratulations, Connie, for being my choice for A Cut Above!

Sandra's Pick: Narelle

With so many fantastic cards to choose from, it was so hard to just pick one but I kept being drawn to Narelle's gorgeous CAS Christmas card. There are so many things to love about this card! The beautiful monotone colours, curled corner, pearls and ruffled ribbon all add to the elegant feel. Congratulations, Narelle on being my choice for a Cut Above this week!

Anne Marie's Pick: Susan Joyce

Susan's "fun in the sun" card card immediately caught my eye this week! The color combo is so perfect to showcase those cute images and I just love the beach scene she created. Those little stamped feet are so stinkin' cute! The pop of bling on the flip flops and that adorable hat on the "beach babe" are the perfect touch, too. Congratulations, Susan on being my choice for a Cut Above this week!

Nance's choice: Sue Rowe

Sue's gorgeous card kept my attention for her elegant color scheme and fabulous use of bold designer paper.  I think many of us struggle to use bold patterns but Sue made hers shine by keeping the colors simple and the layout clean.  The distressed flowers are the perfect touch of texture and their pearl centers are fabulous!  It all adds up to one elegant and gorgeous card...congratulations Sue, you're my Cut Above!

Carrie's Choice: Torico

I fell in love with the colours of Torico's card. They are not the typical bold colours you see with Halloween images but subtle, soft and certainly autumnal. I loved her images of the three little mummies and cutting them out was the perfect "kapow" factor. Also, I am always hesitant to marry white and vanilla on the same card but I think by doing that she has made the mummies stand out and look like they are comin' to get 'cha! Torico, I love this card and I'm so thrilled to have you as my Cut Above this week!

Lesley's Choice: Shirley

I fell in love with Shirley's "cute" Halloween card...she does make cute stuff!  The simplicity of this card is what made it stand out for me.  Love the designer paper, love the colours and love the stamping!  What really makes her card so cool is the fabulous bow she created and the button, to add just the right amount of "eye candy" and to not overwhelmed the images or the designer paper.  A beautiful, clean design and one that I will be CASEing for sure!!  Congratulations Shirley!!!

Jaydee's Choice:  Jessica

I loved Jessica's crisp, clean card.  The Baker's twine reminded me of Candy Cane and really like that it runs all the way under the focal image.  The three Christmas trees in their individual circles are fabulous, but the center one, with it's shadow stamping, really pops from the page.  This clean and simple card - is simply stunning.  Congratulations, Jessica, on being my cut above this week.

And for our Headliner:

LeAnne's Choice:  Monika Davis

I kept returning to Monika's card because although she used only two stamps for her card, she used them in such a fun, creative, way, I had to keep looking at it over & over again!   She employed colors that were bold and yet still coordinated; she used a continuing circular theme with the embossing, the Circle Circus image, the word "GO", and the beadsand her clever ribbon treatment and little clip tied it all together!  CAS but very creative and eye-catching! Congratulations, Monika, on being my Headliner this week!

Challenge #60 - A CAS Sketch

Hi everyone! LeAnne here with my very first sketch challenge for you! Anyone who knows me knows that I like things "in threes"! In the art world, odd numbers of images are more pleasing to the eye, and three is what makes me happy! So today, you'll have a chance to highlight three images--or shapes, or embellishments, or whatever makes you happy! I can't wait to see what you come up with! Although the Design Team uses Stampin' Up! products, we want you to feel free to use any brand you like. At The Paper Players, we are all about having fun!

Challenge # 59 Winners

Hi there and Happy Saturday! Anne Marie here. Wow, the Design Team was absolutely Tickled Pink with ALL of the fabulous entries in last week's color challenge. Thanks so much to everyone who participated! Without further ado, here are the Cut Above selections and our Pink-tastic Headliner for the week.

A Cut Above

Carrie's (GD) Choice: Jen Mitchell

I was immediately drawn to Jen's card for many reasons. First, I loved her use of Rose Red - although the "boldest" of the colours for this challenge, she made it look soft and subtle by adding a designer paper coordinating strip and some lighter coloured ric-rac. Her circular image with folded flower is a perfect way to showcase the various pinks and I loved the clean and crisp style of this card overall. Great job Jen! Congrats on being my Cut Above this week.

Ann' Choice: Gisela

How cute is this birthday card by Gisela!  My eye was immediately drawn to the fabulous "Birthday Girl" sentiment.  Add a gorgeous punched border, a touch of texture, butterflies and a satin bow, and you have an adorable uber-girly card! Congrats, Gisela! I hope you are "tickled pink" to be my selection for A Cut Above this week!

Nance's choice: Angela

In a sea of pink, Angela's card immediately caught my eye for all its lovely white space.  The clean layout really makes all the pinks "pop"!  Her perfect arrangement of the hearts is something I struggle to do and admire when others do it so well!  :-)  The additional design element of coordinating 11 hearts with the sentiment is just a fabulous touch.  On a scale of one to ten, Angela's card is an eleven!  Congratulations Angela, you're my Cut Above this week!

Lesley's Choice: Andrea

Andrea's card caught my eye right away this week! Not only do I love the fantastic layout but her use of this week's colours is superb!  The texture on her card is a nice touch and makes the flowers "pop" right off the page!  I just love everything about this many layered card!  Congratulations Andrea.

Sandra's Choice: Cath Dean

What a cute party favour Cath has created this week! I love how the polka dot DSP is continued from the fun little birdies wing. The rhinestone on the little flower is such a cute touch. And the satin ribbon on the library clip closure is the perfect finishing touch. I'm sure any little girl would LOVE to receive this favour! Congratulations Cath, on being my pick for a Cut Above this week!

Lauri's Choice:  Marian

Another week with a difficult choice!  Marians's card stands for for us because of its unique use of a popular set!  She not only used the pink beautifully, but the overstamping/stamping off creates a lovely effect!  The boy and tag are a great finishing touch.  Congratulations Marian, for being my choice for a Cut Above this week of pink!

LeAnne's Choice - Erna

Erna's card stood out to me for many reasons:  the clean, crisp lines of her images, the contrast between the colors and her interesting way to use the Tasteful Trims die!  Her embellishments added a nice touch to the sketch she used---an all-around wonderful card!  Congratulations, Erna, on being my Cut Above!

Jaydee's Choice:  Tammy

I loved Tammy's light and airy balloon card.  It reminded me of the balloons that take off down the road from us.  Looking at the card brought back those memories and made me smile.  I also loved that Tammy stamped the balloon on the tag and the ribbon treatment on either side of the tag worked so well with the the card.  Just the little hint of black on the balloon baskets and layer helped to really pop the pinks.  Congratulations, Tammy, on being my Cut Above this week.

and now for our Headliner....
Anne Marie's Choice: Narelle Ferrugia

I just love how Narelle used the pink color combo to create this gorgeous card! The mix of patterns and textures are perfectly balanced together and that bow is such a beautiful finishing touch. So crisp and clean with gorgeous dimension and detail! Congratulations, Narelle, for making the Headlines at the Paper Players this week!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see our next weekly challenge! The lovely LeAnne is our hostess and she has something fun in store for you. Have a great day!
